Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA) - Credit Team, Associate
Role Overview
The Credit Strategy team within BXMA invests across the global credit landscape, sourcing and underwriting opportunities throughout the capital structure across both public and private markets. Investments span partnerships with fund managers, operating platforms, co-investments, and direct investments.
The team is seeking a highly analytical and eager Investment Associate who is excited to work across a broad opportunity set. The Associate will play a central role in underwriting investments, building complex financial models, and conducting thematic strategy research.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of asset classes including structured credit, corporate credit, asset-based finance, and real assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Sourcing & Underwriting
• Working with broader team to source and conduct due diligence for prospective investments within the Credit space, including sourcing and underwriting public and private strategies across a wide range of asset classes.
• Performing deep dive due diligence on fund managers, companies, and/or assets, including creating detailed financial models and scenario analysis and researching industries and themes
Portfolio Analysis
• Continuous evaluation of existing portfolio exposures (across fund investments/partnerships, direct investments, and co-investments), including tracking key positions, themes, and exposures within portfolios, regular conversations with fund managers and industry participants, and challenging/stress-testing investment theses.
• Developing tools to process and analyze large data sets for individual investment underwriting as well as broader portfolio construction analyses.
Structuring
• Assisting in structuring investments across partnerships, funds, co-investments, and direct transactions.
• Analyzing legal documentation, covenant structures, and transaction terms.
Senior-Level Leadership Presentation
• Creating materials for investment committees, regular portfolio discussions, and updates for senior management and external investors.
Qualifications
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, diligent, and who have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should meet the following qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, credit investing, structured products, or a hedge fund / asset management platform
• Strong financial modeling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intellectually curious with a deep interest in markets
• Self-starter, independently drive analysis and develop investment views
• Team-oriented, collaborating across investment teams
• Programming or data analysis experience (Python, SQL, VBA, or similar) is a strong plus

Expected annual base salary range:
$110,000 - $125,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone's sole discretion.
